Apollo Truck Driving Academy, operating as part of the Apollo Career Center in Lima, Ohio, provides comprehensive training for individuals seeking a Class A CDL. The academy is licensed by the Department of Public Safety through the State of Ohio Governor's Highway Safety Office and accredited by the Council on Occupational Education. Their courses are designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the CDL tests and succeed as professional truck drivers. The Class A CDL course consists of 200 hours of training, including 56 hours of classroom instruction and 144 hours of range and road training. Apollo's curriculum exceeds both Federal and State of Ohio entry-level training requirements. The academy boasts strong relationships with over 60 trucking companies that actively hire their graduates. Financial aid options are available to eligible students through programs like WIOA, NAFTA, TAA, TRA, OOD, VA, Tuition Assistance, and the Montgomery GI Bill; private student loans are also accepted. Apollo Career Center also functions as an authorized third-party testing site for both Class D and Commercial Driver's Licenses. Day classes run Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., night classes run Monday to Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and weekend classes run Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The academy utilizes Freightliner trucks with 13 speeds, maintaining a strict maintenance program. In addition to CDL training, Apollo Career Center offers driver education training for beginning drivers, including 24 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.
