About Archuleta County Road and Bridge
The Archuleta County Road and Bridge Department is a division of the county's Public Works Department. They maintain and reconstruct roads and bridges within the county's jurisdiction, including snow removal. The department maintains approximately 327 miles of road, split between primary and secondary roads, and is also responsible for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of 20 bridges. Due to the rural and mountainous nature of the county, some roads receive limited maintenance, or summer-only maintenance.
