About Arkansas Trucking Academy
The Arkansas Trucking Academy (ArkTA) is the state's first public program of its kind, designed to address the driver shortage in Arkansas and nationwide. It is a consortium of four community colleges: Arkansas State University Three Rivers in Malvern, University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana in Hope, UA Cossatot's Nashville campus, and UA Rich Mountain in Mena. ArkTA aims to provide an economical path to a commercial truck driving career, saving students thousands compared to private academies. The program combines virtual/simulation instruction, traditional classroom learning, and practical over-the-road experience.
