About Arkansas Trucking Academy

Arkansas Trucking Academy (ArkTA) is a consortium of community colleges including ASU Three Rivers, UA Cossatot, UA Rich Mountain, and UA Hope/Texarkana, offering an economical path to a commercial truck driving career. Made possible by an Arkansas Regional Workforce grant, the program significantly reduces tuition costs compared to private trucking academies. The academy aims to address the driver shortage by training individuals in less than 4 weeks, equipping them with the skills for success on the road. ArkTA's program includes traditional classroom instruction, simulation, and practical over-the-road training, meeting FMCSA Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements. Students receive 144 hours of training and upon successful completion, are prepared to test for their Commercial Driver's License (CDL). The academy also provides a Certificate of Completion for Human Trafficking Prevention training. With limited slots per class, ArkTA offers financial aid options such as employee sponsorships, Career Pathways, Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, and the Arkansas Workforce Challenge Scholarship. The academy is an FMCSA registered training provider, committed to building a skilled workforce.
