Bates Technical College offers a PTDI-certified Commercial Driver Training program at its South Campus in Tacoma, Washington, approximately 35 miles south of Seattle. The program prepares students for Class A and Class B CDL licensure through a rigorous five-week curriculum combining classroom instruction, range work, and on-road driving. The school operates a well-equipped training fleet including 7 Class A tractors (both automatic and manual), 7 trailers (28-foot and 53-foot), and 6 Class B box trucks. Students cover logbooks, atlas training, weight distribution, truck terminology, and backing exercises. Hazmat endorsement courses are also available.
