About Columbus Community Hospital Rehabilitative Services Driving Program
Columbus Community Hospital's Driver Rehabilitation Program, offered through Rehab Services at the Wellness Center, is designed to help individuals with physical, mental, or sensory changes that impact their ability to drive safely. The program is open to those 16 and older with a driver's license or learner's permit who have conditions such as neurological impairments, orthopedic impairments, amputations, spinal cord injuries, memory deficits, dementia, vision impairments, or age-related changes. The program begins with a two-part evaluation, including a clinical assessment and an on-the-road session. Occupational therapists then recommend driver retraining sessions and/or vehicle modifications. If driving is no longer recommended, they will discuss other transportation resources.
