About Emerge – CDL Pre-Apprentice - Fortified Development
The Emerge CDL Pre-Apprentice Program, offered by Fortified Development, is designed for individuals exploring a career in the trucking industry. This program provides participants with knowledge and hands-on experience to take the first step toward becoming a CDL driver. The program is approved by the Denver Construction Careers Program (DCCP) as part of a pipeline to quality construction jobs in Denver. It is also the first step in their CDL Continuum of Care, helping individuals transition from aspiring to be in the trucking industry to becoming employed as confident and safe CDL drivers. The program includes two weeks of classroom instruction, self-paced online coursework, hands-on experience with a tractor/trailer, and mentorship. Targeted outcomes include an introduction to the trucking industry, mentorship in obtaining a CDL, CDL permit prep, an Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Certificate, and a voucher for a DOT physical. Fortified Academy's Emerge CDL Pre-Apprentice Program is designed to provide a pathway to quality construction jobs in Denver, particularly benefiting individuals seeking careers in the construction industry. Emerge Career also partners with other trucking schools to provide hands-on training towards a Class A CDL. They support students in finding their first driving job by connecting them with partner companies and making personal introductions to hiring managers. They also help students build strong resumes and optimize their job search profiles. Emerge Career also offers a free CDL training program for individuals with a history of criminal justice involvement. Graduates of this program can earn an average of $80,000 per year.
