Jones Technical Institute (J-Tech) provides hands-on, safety-oriented Class A CDL training, preparing students for careers as commercial truck drivers. The 4- or 8-week Commercial Truck Driving and CDL Program helps students acquire the skills necessary to prepare for the Class “A” Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Examination. J-Tech is licensed, accredited, and a state-authorized 3rd party testing facility. Students receive classroom, yard, and over-the-road training to develop the skills and confidence they need to be professional drivers. The school also offers flexible schedules with day or evening classes to accommodate different lifestyles. The Commercial Truck Driving Program is a 170-hour training program that aligns with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Entry Level Driver Training Regulation (ELDT) and the Compliance, Safety, and Accountability program (CSA). Students learn the key fundamentals of the CSA initiative, including Behavior Analysis Safety Improvement Categories (BASICs). J-Tech also offers third-party CDL testing on-site to qualified graduates who hold a Florida Driver's License. Students are exposed to various recruiters during their training and receive assistance with job placement. J-Tech is dedicated to student success, offering a Workplace Readiness Course, transitional programs, and career advisement services. The institute has solid industry partners and focuses on preparing students for the real world with hands-on training at their 168,000 square foot facility. Jones Technical Institute was awarded the ACCSC School of Excellence recognition in 2024. The school admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin and does not discriminate.
