About National Safety Council, Nebraska
The National Safety Council, Nebraska Chapter (NSCN) was founded in 1924 and is the only National Safety Council Chapter in Nebraska. NSCN is a non-profit organization committed to preventing injuries and saving lives through education and advocacy in the workplace, at home, and on the road. They offer a variety of safety training programs, including defensive driving, driver education, motorcycle safety, workplace safety, OSHA, DOT, first aid, and CPR. NSCN also provides community outreach programs and resources aimed at families. NSCN's new facility is designed to enhance its focus on hands-on training for workplace safety, equipped with tools and environments that replicate real-world scenarios. This approach aims to create a more immersive learning experience, better preparing workers for the safety challenges they will face on the job. The organization partners with businesses, schools, law enforcement, firefighters, hospitals, and Nebraska communities to promote safety and health. NSCN is designated as an OSHA Training Institute Education Center, one of only 27 in the United States. They are Nebraska's first defensive driving trainer, serving more than 12,000 drivers annually, and have the largest private teen driver education and motorcycle safety programs in Nebraska. The organization has received numerous awards for its community safety campaigns, first aid/CPR, defensive driving, and newsletter.
